The Ontario Institute of Health and Innovation (OIHI) and George Brown Polytechnic (GBP) are proud to announce a new academic pathway agreement that will expand opportunities for students pursuing careers in early childhood education.
Through this partnership, graduates of OIHI’s Early Child Assistant (ECA) Diploma Program will have a direct pathway into two of GBP’s highly regarded programs:
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) Fast-Track Program (C130): OIHI ECA graduates are recognized as meeting the admission requirements to apply directly into this program.
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) Part-Time Program (C132): Qualified OIHI graduates will receive a credit transfer equivalent to the first two semesters and will be admitted directly into Semester 3 with one additional field placement.
This pathway agreement provides OIHI graduates with a clear, accelerated route to continue their education, gain advanced qualifications, and enhance their career prospects in the field of early childhood education.

The agreement also establishes a Partnership Management Committee, comprised of representatives from both OIHI and GBP, to oversee the pathway, review student success outcomes, and explore additional opportunities for collaboration.
