Admission Requirements

Explore the admission requirements for Ontario Institute of Health and Innovation programs.

OIHI Academic Requirements

A student must satisfy one of the three academic qualifications below:

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent; or be at least 19 years of age or older and pass an entry test.
  • Equivalent: Foreign credentials must be translated in English and assessed for Grade 12 equivalency by a recognized organization such as WES (World Education Service).
  • Mature student status may be granted to applicants who are over 19 years of age and do not have a Canadian high school diploma or GED, if a score of 15 or more on the Wonderlic SLE is achieved.

OIHI Non-Academic Requirements

  • Cleared Vulnerable Sector Police Check
  • Full Medical Assessment & Immunization record
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C

OIHI English Proficiency Requirements

If English is not a student’s first language, they must provide proof of English competency. This must be demonstrated through one of the following options:

Option 1: Submission of English Language Test Score

Applicants may receive direct admission by submitting one of the following recognized English language test scores with their application.

Option 2: Formal Full-time Study in English

Evidence of successful completion of two consecutive years of full-time equivalent post-secondary study in English at a Canadian institution.

or

Evidence of successful completion of two consecutive years of full-time equivalent post-secondary study in English at a recognized institution in an English-speaking country.


Recognized English Language School

Ontario Institute of Health and Innovation has established English language pathways to help students complete their language requirements. Graduation from a pathway program at one of these institutions demonstrates an equivalency of required English proficiency. See below for pathway programs currently available to students.

Students also have the ability to choose different time slots if studying and will receive personalized attention from TLG Canada’s dedicated tutors. Ontario Institute of Health and Innovation (OIHI) accepts the successful completion of TLG UPP L4 as proof of English.
