Ontario Institute of Health and Innovation (OIHI) and Global University Systems (GUS) Canada are excited to announce the new Medical Office Assistant (MOA) program. This diploma program at OIHI equips students for a rewarding career as a medical secretary, medical administrative assistant and related roles.
With 41,100 new job openings expected in Canada by 2031, the demand for medical office assistants is high. This program is designed to launch students’ careers quickly while fully preparing them for their transition into the workforce.
Combining 616 hours of theory with 160 hours of practicum in a real healthcare setting, this hybrid diploma program ensures students graduate with the knowledge, skills and work experience needed to thrive in their career.
Ehsan Safdari, COO of GUS North America and President of GUS Canada Colleges, said, “We are thrilled to launch another in-demand healthcare program at OIHI. We remain committed to providing students with cutting-edge resources for an exceptional, industry-relevant education, including practicum opportunities with our network of leading healthcare partners.”
Starting in April 2025, OIHI’s new Medical Office Assistant students will join a supportive community dedicated to caring for others and inspiring innovation. OIHI students will also have access to various student services to help them succeed, including academic support, career services and more.
